Every school has a school council-a group focused on helping all students succeed.
School councils are groups of parents, community representatives, teaching and non-teaching employees, students and the school principal. Through the active participation of parents, school councils work to improve student achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.
Support for school councils is provided by the Simcoe County District School Board's Parent Involvement Committee.

Why join us on School Council?
Involvement in school council is a meaningful, hands-on way to have a direct, positive impact on your child's educational experience. Research shows that when parents are involved in their child's education, the level of student achievement increases.
How do I get involved?
School council meetings are open to the public, so anyone can attend meetings without being an elected or voting member. Our school council elections will take place at this year's first meeting on September 30th, 2024 in the library. You can always check back here for updates to our meetings agendas and minutes.
For more information about joining school council, speak to your principal or a current school council member, or email Cameron School Council Co-Chairs at [email protected]
Boost your school council's effectiveness
School council members are elected to represent the school community. School council isn't the location to address individual concerns. School councils discuss broader topics, like the community engagement, volunteer opportunities, new programs or initiatives, student well-being, student achievement, and school-wide fundraising activities.
Become a volunteer
Send an email to [email protected] with your legal name and we will get back to you with the necessary letter and instructions to get you set up to volunteer with your students' classes, activities or just help out with council events.
